Abstract
In the paper we first suggest an alternative automobile dependency indicator and describe its development. Then we apply the suggested automobile dependency indicator on some Czech and other European cities and describe the obtained values of the automobile dependency indicator.
The paper also contains a discussion of factors contributing to increased automobile dependency and its consequences.
