Abstract
The article studies the behind-the-scenes diplomacy of J.J.Rückl as the confidant of E. Beneš who ensured the votes of the opposition ĺudová strana for Beneš’s election as president and who tried to edge off the autonomistic radicalism of the ĺudová strana.
