Study material is the outline of systems and interfaces of OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) evolution. The text comprises the description of the first, second and third OPAC generation characteristics.

The deficiencies of actual second and perspectives of third OPAC generation are described in detail. The material is prepared on the basis of foreign literature.
