Abstract
The conference paper (Metadata standardization for the Czech national ETDs Register) presents the proposal of the (Czech) national Electronic Theses and Dissertations Metadata Set (EVSKP-MS, version 0.1) which was prepared within Czech university libraries activities. In the first part purposes, significance and starting points of Metadata Set creation are characterized.
The second part contains brief description of proposed metadata elements, mandatory elements for purposes of their communication on national and international level are emphasized. More detailed commentary concerns particularly problematic metadata elements.
The third part introduces recommended possibilities of metadata record in RDF/XML, XML and HTML/XHTML formats, and content record of some elements - date, language, resource format and personal names.
