Abstract
Monograph of the leading Czech visual artist (1925-1988). The first part is devoted to Fára´s relation to the theatre (Velemanová), the second part is devoted to the visual art, starting with surrealist drawings of the 40ies, continuing with modern realism, the cycle of Rhythms, assamblages, and objects of the 1950s until 1970s (the cycle Gaming Tables). The book studies collages in the last decades of Fára´s life, specific relation to photography in his cycle Windows and projects, where he mixed different medias including perfectionist drawing.
It is shown Fára´s contribution to typography since the 1950s, and his contacts and friendship with important contemporary personalities ((Karel Teige, Josef Istler, Jan Grossmann, Václav Havel etc.).
