The Trojan War in Prague: Homer, Virgil, and Albrecht von Wallenstein

Abstract

The fresco painting in the garden loggia or salla terrena of the Wallenstein Palace in Prague (1620/29) are interpreted as based on Homer´s Illiad (and its Late Antique and Medieval reworkings) and only to a lesser extent on Virgil´s Aeneid.
