The paper discusses the foundations of Frege's philosophy on the background of the parallel formation of the foundations philosophy of Husserl. Its thesis is that whereas Husserl concentrated on the concept of certainty, Frege focused on the concept of truth.
It is obviously the very stress put on this concept that led directly to Frege's antipsychologism and also to the berginnings of what was later developed into the linguistic turn. Less obviously, it establishes an interesting parallel between Frege's philosophical thinking and the thinking of Donald Davidson.
