The Gesture of world's redemption

Abstract

The article deals with the conjunction of the pointing and the body as it is conceived in the works of M. Merleau-Ponty.

The point of departure are his reflections on the chiasmatical relation body-world, both being of the same "stuff". The very core of these reflections opens up an access to the theme of "natural world-perceiving" and its perspective structure.

The pointing and the artist as lived body are able to save the insight into a world as becoming and in its becoming. The key-position for the argument are Merleau-Ponty's analyses of Cézanne's creative productivity.
