Article deals with relationship between health and part-time employment of older people. An analysis answers a question if older people are interested in part-time employment, if there is any difference between working population before reaching pensionable age and after reaching this age and if having a job in older age means better wellbeing and satisfaction in life.
The analysis showed that older people in pre-retirement age are a different social group. Part-time employment is more often used by the group of older people with specific demands (worsening health, need of care).
Part-time emplyoment in the Czech Republic is more often used by people who already reached pensionable age. Beeing employed for them means better health and greater life satisfaction.
