Abstract

Discusses the indications for Rogerian psychotherapy (RP), the behavior of the Rogerian psychotherapist during treatment, and the effectiveness of RP compared with other psychotherapies. Data from 2 experiments conducted at the University of Regensburg on (1) the behavior of Rogerian psychotherapists in Germany and (2) the impact of therapy on client behavior are examined.

Results of extensive metaanalysis of the outcome of treatment with RP vs cognitive behavior therapy are discussed
