In the process of education to economic thinking and decision-making pupils encounter an array of opposing views and attitudes towards solution of individual economic problems. The question arises how to gain the basic orientation in the wide range of various opinions and if a dialogue exists among economists, which would create preconditions for reaching a compromise.
This essay defines specific features of dialogue in economics. It characterizes its potential and limits at the level of general economic theory, as well as at the level of economic policy with distinction between economic policy as a theory and economic policy as a practical activity.
