Action plan for the European ground squirrel (Spermophilus citellus) in the Czech Republic

Abstract

Contemporary knowledge about taxonomy, distribution, biology and ecology of the European ground squirrel are reviewed. Causes of risk to the species and present measures to its protection are analysed.

New action plan for the European ground squirrel in the Czech Republic is presented.
