To Have a Body and to Be a Body : Body in Merleau-Ponty''s Phenomenology of Perception

Abstract

Does Merleau-Ponty''s account of the body in his Phenomenology of Perception imply some sort of dualism? The article anwers in positive, but the dualism in question is not one of substances, but one of the lived duality: of pre-porsonal capacities of the body and of personal performances.
