The article focuses on description of the Method of pictograms which was invented by Alexandr Romanovitch Lurija. The client is asked to memorize a specific set of 21 words which are said to him/her and to draw pictures of respective expressions for easier memorizing.
The personality traits can be deduced based on characteristics of drawn pictures (level of abstraction, adequacy to a particular word, content, pencil line, arrangement of pictures...). The aim of a pilot research was to confirm the usefulness of the method of pictograms as a tool for diagnosing a mistrustful attitude of people. 22 soldiers of the Army of the Czech Republic participated in the research.
The results were contrasted with the results from MMPI-2 questionnaire. The results from these two methods diverge.
Six people were determined distrustful by MMPI-2, while 11 people were determined distrustful by method of pictograms.
