Is the Holocene chironomid-inferred temperature at the Plešné Lake (the Bohemian Fores, Czech Republic) reliable?

Publication

Abstract

The inferred Holocene July air temperature varied from 10.6 ti 14.0oC and appparently does not follow the common trend of the early Holocene maximum and subsequent cooling as documented from many sites of the northen hemisphere. Geochemical analysis and biological analyses of subfossil remains showed the high input of organic matter form the catchment forested very soon after the glacial decline, which led to the trophy elevation and then to the shifts in the structure of the chironomid assemblages.

Later the strong human impact was also recorded.
