The lecture “Le bonifiche granducali nel primo Ottocento” took a part of a cycle “Maremma si trasforma, tra fase pre-unitaria e tempo presente” held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, dedicated to the specific Risorgimento in Maremma. This particular lesson, prepared together with the prof.
Leonardo Rombai of the Universitá degli Studi di Firenze, has focused on resurgence of the territory which logically had preceded the national Risorgimento, namely the period of bonification of the Habsbourg-Lorraine, specifically of the last Grand-duke of this family, Leopold II of the Habsbourg-Lorraine.
