Erysipelas is a common acute skin and subcutaneous tissue infection caused by group A ß-hemolytic streptococcus, it spreads via lymphatic pathways and sometimes it may be a serious condition and it may cause significant patient's morbidity and mortality. In our paper we present a brief summary of clinical findings in erysipelas and we describe a case of a phlegmonous erysipelas and its successful treatment in a female patient with lymphedema of her lower extremity.
