Abstract

Despite the independent segregation of genes encoding killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) and human leukocyte antigen (HLA),there is some evidence of some kind of co-evolution. Therefore, one could expect reduced KIR diversity within the HLA restricted population.
