Abstract

The first part of the text concentres on a definition of the term Recovery Support (the second wave response) and its functional relation to the First Response (the first wave response). In the next part are described activities of the Humanitarian Unit of the Czech Red Cross (Prague 1 local branch) during floods in Liberec region (August 2010).

Emphasis is placed on acquired experiences with render assistance (humanitarian, medical etc.) in affected area. There are highlights of several attributes of this assistance which were achieved.

Mainly active involving to the monitoring system of affected inhabitant requirements and into the system of the Emergency Medical Service ensuring in the affected area. In the end of the contribution on the basis of acquired experiences the author gives support to argument about Recovery Support (the second wave response) importance in crisis situation and also its importance as a part of broader concept of Integrated Rescue System.
