Abstract
The study summarises contemporary knowledges about the music of the Roma (Gypsies) living in the Czech Republic. In the frame of the research context it deals with music according the ethnomusicologist A.P.
Merriam from threee points of view: as sound phenomenon (musics of Moravian Roma, Slovak Roma and Vlax Roma are discussed), as results of human opinions and ideas and as human behavior.
