Abstract

Aim of this paper is to describe cognitive processes involved during spatial navigation in humans. Various testing methods developed first for animal models later advanced using virtual reality helped to clarify the neuronal bases of spatial cognition.

Experimental part presents the virtual version of the Hidden goal task (analogy of Morris water maze) used to assessment of cognitive deficit in schizophrenia patients.
