A simpler arcwise connected continuum without non-boundary proper arcwise connected subcontinua

Abstract

Presented is a simpler construction of an arcwise connected continuum without non-boundary proper arcwise connected subcontinua. This example is a modification of the first example given by G.

Acosta et al. in 2002. The existence of a planar example remains open.
