Abstract
This article deals with political and military conflicts in Africa. First, it discusses the general causes for conflicts.
These causes are subsequently explained with examples from five selected African countries (Algeria, Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria and DR Congo). A short text summarises the causes, development and results of these conflicts along with factors contributing to their occurrence and evolution.
Attached tables and map serve as didactic tools for teaching geography in elementary and secondary schools.
