Abstract
"How can you do excellent research in theoretical computer science?"- That was the question given by the organisers of this seminar and collection. I use the question just as a pretext, not verbatim as a topic.
That is because of my aversion to the word "excellent" caused by its overusage. There are not many things worthy of it.
I will state just three (3) aspects of successful work in contemporary theoretical computer science. 1. non-specialization 2. freedom 3. delicacy of a scalpel (this topic is motivated by lecture [ 16 ]). This is the axis of the paper.
Then I state 4. remarks on the nature of the theoretical computer science 5. literature.
