Voltammetric Determination of Trace Amount of 2-Methoxy-5-Nitrophenol on Meniscus Modified Silver Solid Amalgam Electrode

Abstract

Voltammetric determination of growth stimulator 2-methoxy-5-nitrophenol was studied using DC voltammetry (DCV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) at a meniscus modified silver solid amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE). Optimal conditions were found for its determination by DCV and DPV on m-AgSAE in Britton-Robinson (BR) buffer pH 2 and 6 within the concentration range 1x10-4 - 1x10-6 mol.l-1.

Method was successfully used for determination of the substance in model samples of drinking and river water.
