The article introduces the diversity of contemporary feminist thinking, which loosely continues and builds on the so-called second wave of feminism. The goal of the article is not an exhaustive list of various kinds of feminism and feminist trends, because such a list is not possible.
It is important to point trends, which influenced and moved feminist thinking in the past roughly twenty years in new directions and spaces. The connecting aspect of all streams of diverse lines of feminist thought is understanding that marginalized, or in some way disadvantaged, position of an individual (or group) in a society offers a suitable point of departure for analysis and critique of social relations and organization.
