Abstract

The study is focused on the history of Nymburk. Its aim is to estimate further possibilities of research of the development of primary education in a period starting with the defeat of the Estates in the battle at White Mountain.

The author follows the gradual disintegration of the pre-1620 system of education in the town. The appendix contains an edition of three documents from 1631-1633 related to the administrators of the Nymburk school.
