The phosphomimetic mutation of an evolutionarily conserved serine residue affects the signaling properties of Rho of plants (ROPs)

Abstract

Using site-directed mutagenesis specific aminoacid changes were introduced into plant ROP GTPases to mimic phosphorylation regulation. Using this approach it was shown that phosphorylation regulates the interaction of ROPs with the activating PRONE GEFs.
