Abstract
In Czech primary schools there are more and more pupils who have another mother tongue than Czech. Teaching Czech as a foreign/second language respects the EU language policy.
University education of teachers working with foreign language pupils is realised within the current teacher training programmes, however creating separate specialized study programmes is worth considering.
