Competences of Teachers to Deal with School Bullying: Selected Methodological Approaches in Empirical Research

Abstract

The paper presents selected methodological approaches that can be used to examine the readiness of teachers to deal with school bullying. Advantages and drawbacks of selected quantitative and qualitative methods are presented on specific examples of research carried out.

The contribution is based on empirical investigation, which the authors conducted in 2008-2010 on a representative sample of teachers and subsequent critical analysis of research tools used. Selected methodological approaches are categorized based on the quality of information received by them.
