Publication at Faculty of Education |
2011

Abstract

The entry outlines general characterisation of ethics as to its scientific or/and philosophical founding to demarcate those multidisciplinary approaches which can be used within ethics education. Ethics is introduced as an interdisciplinary theory of social/cultural science and mainly philosophy which can take various different perspectives of particular sciences on the phenomena of morality and integrate them in one philosophically welded complex.

The perspectives of selected social/cultural sciences are briefly drafted in the form of multidisciplinary mosaic. The entry is completed by concise notes on the way the multidisciplinarity of ethics reflects in basic professional training of Czech police officers.

The necessary preconditions for improvement of the current state of ethics education of police officers are also identified.
