Equivalents of the Russian Past Transgressive in the Czech Language on the Base of the Occurrences in the Bilingual Corpus
Abstract
This paper gives an overview of the equivalents of the Russian past transgressive (deepričastie NS) in the Czech language on the base of the occurrences in the bilingual corpus. There is a considerable difference between the system of the transgressives and frequency in the spoken Czech language.
The Czech language has a rich system of past transgressive but the frequency in the written language is very low. The Russian system is on the other hand simpler, but the forms are actively used.
The equivalents were analyzed in accordance with the principles of the Praguean typology. The most equivalents are finite verbs (primarily predication), a part of them are nouns (substantives or adjectives), i.e. nominalization.
In Czech contrary to Russian, the infinitive forms of verb (it means secondary predication) are used only marginally.
