Temporal instability of temperature singularities in a long-term series at Prague-Klementinum

Abstract

The recent study of meteorological singularities in the Czech Republic is supplemented with respect to findings concerning temporal stability of air temperature singularities. A procedure that reduces the dependence of results on the choice of a reference period is proposed.

It is shown that nearly all temperature singularities found over the period since 1961 and/or the whole period of 1881-2000 are temporally unstable.
