Abstract
Introduction to the thematic issue of the Czech Sociological Review dedicated to the history of Czech sociology in the time period 1960-1989: its revival in 1960's, normalization and subordination to strict ideological control after 1968 and a gradual renewal in late 1980's. The issue contains articles by leading Czech sociologists, the round table discussion Czech sociology 1965-1989 and concise biographical dictionary.
