Critical review deals with the possibilities and meaningfulness of translating texts from "rare" languages into Czech. D.
Rukriglova and D. Bousek translated Maimonides' epistols from medieval Judaeo-Arabic.
Another symptomatic aspect of the present edition is the necessity of inter-disciplinary collaboration: one of the translators is a philologist, the other a historian of philosophy. The author shows the clear contraproductiv nature of some current criteria for evaluating academic outputs that discourage from co-authorship.
