The aim of the paper is to introduce new ways of expressing results in matrix theory by selected mathematicians (F. G.
Frobenius, A. Capelli, M.
Bocher, ...) in the first three decades of the 20th century. Moreover, we describe the acceptance of the matrix theory by physicists.
