Practical aspects of the heterogeneity of population

Abstract

The paper briefly introduces the concept of heterogeneity in population and its possible consequences for the mortality analysis. A simple illustrative example is presented using the real individual data of mortality in the Czech Republic for one selected year.

It was proven that heterogeneity in mortality data could significantly influence results of the standard mortality analysis.
