SAS and Demography: Methods of smoothing and extrapolation of the mortality curve in the SAS software

Abstract

Demographic analysis uses still more and more often modern information technologies and software. SAS is one of the most frequently used ones.

In the presentation it was briefly summarized how SAS could be used in the field of demographic analysis. Some illustrative examples were also presented - before all the possibility of graphical analysis of mortality, the 3-dimendional graphs, and the usage of non-linear regression in SAS.
