Study on 152 patients evaluated whether non-closure of visceral peritoneum after total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy in patients with uterine corpus carcinoma influence the volume of small intestine within the irradiated volume during adjuvant radiotherapy or late radiation intestinal toxicity. We have proved, that non-closure of peritoneum does not increase the volume of small intestine within the irradiated volume; with no consequent intestinal morbidity enhancement.
