In the first part of the chapter, the author gives a survey of the main historical events important in process of the inclusion of Silesian duchies into the Bohemian State. She begins with the first short-time attempts of the Bohemian princes at the subjection of Silesia.
She continues by the comment on the closer relations of some Silesian princes to the Bohemian Kingdom in 13th century. The survey ends with the enforcement of the feudal dependence of the most Silesian duchies on the Bohemian State under John of Luxemburg, with their incorporation into the Bohemian Crown at the beginning of the rule of Charles IV, and with the integration of the last Silesian duchies, Świdnica and Jawor, into the Bohemian Crown through the marriage of Charles IV to Anne of Świdnica.
In the second part of that chapter, the author shows some noticeable problems in the relations between Bohemia and Silesia.
