Night-Time Space from a Geographical Perspective

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2011

Abstract

This paper is focussed on research issues in night-time geography, which is unfamiliar among Czech geographers, and is predominantly dealt with by francophone researchers. The paper describes specific aspects of the night-time space, including disciplines which are concerned with these aspects.

The aim is to point out the importance of discovering night-time space. During night-time economies, transportation, lighting in public space, and spatial distribution of human activity work in a way that has so far been understudied, despite its influence on the way human society operates.
