The conference was held at the occasion of the completion of the research project "Socio-spatial differentiation of the population and its impact on quality of life in cities and communities in the Czech Republic". In the four sections, various aspects of socio-spatial differentiation in the Czech and Slovak Republic were discussed, as well as its extreme manifestations (ethnic segregation, exclusion), specific forms and manifestations in urban and rural areas and the role of human and social capital in processes of social differentiation.
Panel discussion at the end of the conference dealt with the impact of the local and regional actors on deepening /reducing socio-spatial differentiation and possibilities of prevention of the growing socio-spatial differentiation.
