The Sedlcany region, a forgotten area in central Bohemia, hides many natural interests. Although it is not rich in protected species, there are many "must-see" beautiful places.
Few region can boast such a variety of landscapes. The hilly landscape of the Sedlcany region is bordered by the deep Vltava valley, in which we can find steep rocky outcrops and natural leafy woods with a wealth of flora and fauna.
We can often find large or small ponds with numerous reed growths, which are ideal places for rare birds and amphibians. The Sedlcany region has many geological interests too, from the Petrovice area of granite stones to rich deposits of gold and stribnite.
We mustn't forget the unique Tyncany Karst, where there are several limestone caves. We hope that this publication will promote the natural wealth of Sedlcany region and ensure its protection and preservation for future generations.
