The review describes the new exposition in National Gallery (Nationalgalerie) in Berlin, which is devoted to the postwar period 1945 - 1968. Although the title emphasizes the the political split of Germany, there are many leading art discourses, presented at the exhibition, which are not primarily ideologicaly motivated.
The strenght of the exhibition is the networking of german art story of the period with the international context of abstract expressionism, pop art and conceptualism, including fluxus movement.
