Abstract

Demographic reproduction in the Czech Republic in the last 20 years has significantly changed and largely followed European trends. Ongoing development can be characterized as a departure from the model of early and high marriage and fertility to the late and low marriage and fertility model.

In the background of the changes was the emergence of the second demographic transition, which was caused by external new social and economic conditions after the political turnover in 1989 in Czech Republic.
