Czech Republic, like other European countries recorded progressively aging population, i.e. growing of the number and proportion of older persons in the population. Important role in the last twenty years have played a fundamental change in the reproductive behavior of the Czech population, which ultimately led to deepening the process of demographic aging and to stopping the natural growth of population of the Czech Republic.
The current level of reproduction in long-term perspective does not provide numerical population in compensation. Already in the years 1994-2005 the number of deaths exceeded the number of immigrants.
However, it appears that the volume of immigration is sufficient only to maintain the population size and can not solve the problem of aging of the Czech Republic.
