Excursus 2: Phoenician and Aramaic Inscriptions on a Phoenician storage jar (Excav. No. 826/S/10)

Abstract

It is the aim of this chapter to analyze inscriptions preserved on the Phoenician storage jar no. CCCI, Excav. no. 826/S/10.

It bears at least four inscriptions: three Phoenician ones written in ink (inscriptions no. 1-3) and a fourth in Aramaic script, written in tar (or resin?) (inscription no. 4).
