Actor, Action and Structure in the Micro and Macro-dimensions of Social Reality: a Contribution to the Theoretical Debates of Contemporary Sociology

Abstract

This book deals with the problem of the theoretical concepts of actor, action and structure in contemporary sociology. The antinomy between individualistic and holistic ways of thinking in social science is its key concern, and to overcome this antinomy, a new conceptual structure is proposed.
