Abstract
In the context of the main content and objective of this publication, i.e.,women's activism, the issue of sexual minorities is quite specific due to the impossibility of separating women's activities from men's or transgender activities. While lesbian and gay activities in many ways work closely together, especially at the political level, in other areas the existence of homosexual culture can be successfully questioned.
It is necessary to specifically distinguish and differentiate between gay and lesbian contexts. Transgender people, through their lived experience and thus also their activities, breach the concept of the duality of sex and gender altogether.
The following chapter focuses on conceptualising and reflecting on the interconnections - and separation - between gender and sexuality in Czech society after 1989. It also explains the specificity of GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) activities and places them in theoretical, historical-social and political contexts.
