Abstract
The publication focuses on Jiří Stanislav Guth-Jarkovský, one of the first twelve members of the International Olympic Committee and founder of the Czech Olympic Movement. Although the book concentrates mainly on his Olympic activity, it also focuses on other areas of his work - his teaching at the time of the Habsburg monarchy, service in the Office of the President after the foundation of Czechoslovakia, but also on his work as a writer and translator or on his activity in the Czech Tourist Club.
